It's not without good reason that the village of Plockton (a few miles from Stromeferry) is home to the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music. Live music is still very much part of the culture and we will most likely be lucky enough to some in the local pubs.

Still at the heart of the community, the local pub is the centre of village life and where people gather to socialise and catch up on the local gossip. It can take very little encouragement before the instruments are brought out for a lively session.

It's no secret that if you meet one of the locals who admits to 'playing a little' you can often expect what other would class a virtuoso performance with many of the favourite airs having been passed down from generation to generation.
